Sound vibration is mostly transmitted through walls and floors.
The vibrations which diffuse the sound from room to room can be transmitted in two ways: by vibration of the air or by direct impact on the structure (floor, walls, roof).
Sound insulation consists of stopping the diffusion of the sound vibrations using a material that can absorb them.
Flexible PVC combines two antagonist properties that make it unique: High density and high flexibility.
High flexibility allows a large amount of energy to be absorbed compared with rigid material that will transmit the vibrations.
High density (mass) allows the absorbed vibration energy to be dissipated in micro heat energy. High density produces a highly efficient reduction in low frequencies.
Features
35 dB reduction on average
Thin material, does not extend the thickness of the wall or the floor
Effective impact absorption (vibration via the floor)
Inhibits low frequencies (wall installation)
Transparent if required
Polymass® was developed with an expert acoustic engineer and can absorb around 35dB on average.
