Por que usar PVC com proteção UV?

O PVC com proteção UV recebe um tratamento que o torna resistente aos efeitos nocivos da radiação ultravioleta (UV) da luz solar.

A radiação UV pode degradar o PVC ao longo do tempo, causando descoloração, fragilidade e perda de propriedades mecânicas. Ao incorporar estabilizadores UV na formulação do PVC, é possível prolongar a vida útil e manter a aparência dos produtos expostos ao sol, tornando-os mais duráveis e adequados para uso externo.

O PVC flexível com proteção UV pode ser usado em diversas aplicações, mas é mais comumente utilizado em portas e janelas, como portas rápidas de enrolar, tendas, marquises e coberturas para barcos.

Como funcionam os absorvedores de UV?

Esses aditivos funcionam absorvendo a radiação UV e convertendo-a em energia térmica inofensiva.

Os absorvedores de UV são, em geral, moléculas orgânicas incorporadas à formulação do PVC. Quando a radiação UV atinge o material, esses absorvedorescapturam a radiação e impedem que ela alcance as cadeias do polímero, evitando a degradação.
